| Coastal Wedding Invitations Complete Your Theme |
| If you’re planning a coastal wedding, ordering coastal wedding invitations to keep the theme going is a must. Keep in mind that a coastal wedding doesn’t have to be held right on the beach. If you’re getting married at a wonderful old beach front mansion, at the base of a lighthouse, or even on the deck of a ship, you can use a coastal theme to tie everything together.
There are lots of elegant ways to design custom invitations that have a coastal theme. Just think about those elements that you find the most attractive or are most special to you. If you and your fiancé are both avid sailors, consider using a sailboat image in the background of your wedding invitations. You could add a tiny metallic anchor in one corner or use the colors of your own boat’s signal flag as an accent.
If you want a more subtle approach, consider coastal wedding invitations that feature a silhouette image of sand dunes or sea grasses. This gives a wonderful, natural flair to your invitations without being too obvious. You might also choose images such as sand dollars, sea shells or fish. If you’re going for a truly unique set of wedding invitations for your coastal wedding, consider ordering invitations that offer add-ons such as tiny sea shells or star fish that are real. Fastening these to the front of your invitation is a lovely way to make your invitations unique.
If you want unique invitations to really work for you, be sure you keep the colors in tune with the style of the invitations. Bright, bold colors or monochromatic invitations don’t work. Think of the colors or sand and sky. Soft tans, creams and taupes are great combined with any shade of blue from the palest, soft shade of a morning sky to the deep azure blue of tropical seas. Soft shades of green and sage are also attractive for coastal wedding invitations. Steer clear of bright neon colors or stark contrasts like black and white or black and red. These are more appropriate for either fun, informal invites or, in the case of black, the most formal of invitations.
Once you’ve chosen your invitations, have fun playing with ways to carry the theme through the wedding and reception. If you’ve chosen sea shells for your invitations, consider tucking a few dainty shells into your bridal bouquet or adding tiny ones to the streamers on your flowers. At the reception, use sea shells as place card holders or give votive candles in the shape of a seashell as favors to your guests.
If you opted for coastal wedding invitations that featured sea grasses or a simple touch of coastal color, keep it simple for the reception as well. Focus on the colors. Soft, sand colored table runners trimmed with ribbons in varying shades of ocean blues and greens will give your reception a warm, breezy attitude without the theme being overt. If you’re using candles as centerpieces, choose blue or aqua candles and stick them in small bowls filled with sand and a few loose shells for a lovely look.
Keep in mind that coastal wedding invitations with embellishments such as sea shells, sand dollars or anchors may need special padded envelopes or tiny boxes. It may be a bit more expensive, but it is certainly worth it to send out truly special invitations that set the tone for your wedding long before the guests begin arriving. Sending out memorable wedding invitations is the best way to set the stage for your perfect coastal wedding! |
