 International Health Insurance

No matter if your just taking a short trip to a different country, or moving there temporarily, getting international health insurance to cover temporary medical needs while you are out of your country of origin. To make it simple, you get sick in another country, would you rather pay your bill out of pocket, or would you like to just bring your international health insurance card up? As the word temporary implies, international health insurance is only for predetermined periods of time. International health insurance is not meant to be a permanent solution to a lack of health insurance a person or persons may may face.

Temporary health insurance plans for international vacations differ from business to business. They are also different in the minimal time that the program is based for, and also the legal restrictions and constraints. The plans generally cover but are not limited to travel groups, business trips, diplomats, students, and entertainment persons. These insurance plans can also be purchased to cover spouse, dependents and children.

International health insurance covers the common things that country based insurance would cover, in most cases. These include but are not limited to: Intensive care, hospitals, surgery, emergency medical evacuation, outpatient treatment, accidental death or dismemberment, return of minor children, and repatriation of mortal remains. Besides the emergency health care however, you may sometimes find that the insurance covers lost luggage and trip cancellation. But before making any decisions, it's probably best to discuss your possibilities and plans with licensed agencies.

Two extremely popular temporary international health insurance plans are Liaison International and Atlas Series. The Atlas Series are two plans offered for temporary insurance outside home country turf. One of these plans is made for non-US citizens traveling anywhere outside of their home countries borders. The other plan is called “Atlas International” which was created solely for United States citizens traveling outside the United States of America. Liaison International is available monthly and available to anyone, including non US citizens and US citizens. It is compiled of two separate rate platforms: international travel outside the united states for US citizens and residents that are traveling to another country, and international travelers that were only visiting to the united states.
